ABOUT US
We are proud 4th Generation descendants of the last indigenous hereditary chief of our First Nation people (Huron & Prairie Band of Potawatomi), as well as, my children are 4th Generation descendants of the Chickamuga Cherokee Tribe, embarking on a journey to reclaim our ancestral land.
Our mission is rooted in heritage, honoring our past while looking toward a future where our community thrives. We are Here Because We Remember What Was Done to Us.
WE SHALL TELL OUR OWN STORY!! Together, we stand united in preserving our culture and nurturing the land that has sustained our ancestors for generations. Join us as we reconnect with our roots and advocate for our rightful place in history.
OUR ANCESTRAL STORY
The Chicamauga tribe split from the main body of the Cherokee tribe in the late 1770s, forming a distinct faction known for their resistance to westward expansion by European settlers. Our ancestors established settlements along Chickamauga Creek and engaged in fierce, guerrilla-style ware against encroaching settlers.
The Chickamauga emerged from the Cherokee Nation following the American Revoluntionary War, with a faction led by Chief Dragging Canoe choosing to resist the encroachment of white settlers.
Their established several settlements along Chickamauga Creek, near present-day Chattanooga, Tennessee, which became their stronghold.
The Chickamauga tribe is a distinct indigenous group with relationship ties to the Southeast Ceremonial Complex and a history dating back thousands of years.
